Top Competitors

The Maverik Havok carves its niche in the defensive realm, competing fiercely with the STX Hammer 1K and ECD Rebel D. All three prioritize strength, control, and ground ball dominance, but cater to slightly different defensive styles. The Havok boasts a mid-high pocket and a more traditional face shape, offering a good balance between checking ability and ground ball channeling. The STX Hammer 1K features a wider face and a shallower pocket, excelling at scooping and loose ball situations. The ECD Rebel D, on the other hand, leans towards a tighter, deeper pocket design, ideal for precise checks and controlling possession in close defensive situations.

Progression of the Maverik Havok Lacrosse Heads

The Havok lacrosse head series features two models: the Havok and the Havok 2.0. Here's a breakdown of their progression:

Maverik Havok
  • Designed for aggressive defensemen, long-stick midfielders, and face-off wings
  • Good for a mid-high pocket
  • Incorporates Ground Control tech so players can scoop ground balls from any angle.
Maverik Havok 2.0
  • 4-strut design: increased stiffness for stronger checks
  • New strut orientation, improved balance and feel
  • Tighter pocket, enhanced control and feel for passion and shooting
👍 Pros
First time using the Havok head for a new LSM player. It performs great."
My son has this head and absolutely loves it. It throws, scoops, and checks well.
This head is stealthy...wide face shape = more nuggets for defensemen/LSMs.
👎 Cons
Will warp quickly if you put it through significant use.
My head broke after several practices. This is the third and last time for this head.
Awesome head, but warps too easily for me to trust it.
The Havok is a head for the aggressive defender and LSM. It’s for players who take the ball away and look to push transition. With a ground control scoop for easy ground balls and Xrail technology to evenly distribute head stress, this head is lightweight and holds its stiffness. Good head to have in all weather conditions; it tends to hold shape well. Perfect with a mid-high pocket.
