It features a one-piece 3D Polycarb quarter for a snug fit and flexibility, while the Comfort Flex system enhances the overall feel. Memory foam ankle padding and a microfiber liner provide additional comfort, and the Tuuk Lightspeed Edge holder allows for easy blade swapping. It falls within the Bauer Vapor line, known for its low-volume fit and responsiveness, targeting players who value agility and a quick release on their strides. While not the top-of-the-line model, the X2.7 offers a good balance of features and affordability for competitive play.

The CCM JetSpeed FT470 offers a similar level of comfort and performance to the Bauer Vapor X2.7, making it a great choice for recreational skaters. However, some users report that the Bauer might have a slightly stiffer flex for better power transfer in your stride. The Bauer Supreme S27 is designed for a different playing style. The Supreme S27 prioritizes power over agility, with a stiffer boot that maximizes energy transfer for powerful strides. This can make it slightly less forgiving than the Vapor X2.7, especially for quick turns.

Progression of the Bauer Vapor X2.7

The Vapor skate line is typically updated every other year. Not every new skate model will feature drastic changes. Bauer often balances introducing new features with refining existing ones, ensuring their skates remain competitive and cater to the evolving needs of players.

👍 Pros
The comfort level is good, and they provide enough support for basic skating and learning proper technique.
The microfiber liner is ultra-comfortable, and the memory foam ankle padding offers elite support.
I've used Bauer Vapors in the past, and this X2.7 model feels great. Love the memory foam padding for extra comfort when I’ve been skating all day.
👎 Cons
To me, these skates feel like they are on the softer side. While that might be good for beginners, it's not ideal for powerful skaters.
The liner doesnt seem partifiualy durable. I'm a little worried about how they'll hold up with long-term use.
The break-in period for these skates wasn't the shortest. It took a few sessions for them to feel truly comfortable.
I've had these many times; it's a mid-tier, performance-level skate where you can undoubtedly play a few seasons (probably not in the NHL), but in University, high-level competitive play. The X2.7 has a quick-release holder, and the Vapor fit will be a bit lower, snug, and flexible. The top-level pro-Vapors might last you three years, whereas these might last one and a half two years, but it's the same kind of comfort. It just comes down to your abilities.
