Top Competitors

While the Bauer Supreme Ultrasonic reigns supreme in power transfer with its unibody sole and stiff flex, competitors like CCM JetSpeed FT4 Pro and True TF9 Pro offer a different feel on the ice. The JetSpeed focuses on agility with its Rocketframe composite boot that boasts a lighter weight and more responsive flex, ideal for quick cuts and explosive maneuvers. True skates, on the other hand, prioritize a personalized fit with their anatomical fit system and heat-moldable Anaform technology, aiming for a true extension of your foot for ultimate control and energy transfer.

Progression of the Ultrasonic

The Ultrasonic model was introduced in 2020 as the newest flagship model for the Supreme line, and its packed with new features and improvements over the 2S Pro.

Updates include:

  • The skate’s Carbon Curved Composite Quarter Package is designed to be more accepting to heat molding and provide a more contoured fit.
  • The biggest changes to the Ultrasonic is the addition of the asymmetrical toe cap. The more aggressive attack angle at which the cap was designed is meant for the skater to be closer to the ice.
  • The Lock Fit Pro liner, which contributes to the contoured fit. The liner is paired with a new Aerofoam interior that provides additional ankle support.
  • The Runner is the brand-new LS Pulse TI Edge Runner with power profile, designed to last longer, give the player a tighter turn radius, and improve glide speed.
👍 Pros
Incredible for generating power. My slapshot has improved quite a bit since I made the switch.
Bauer's new Performance Fit System is a game-changer. These skates come in three different width options (Fit 1, Fit 2, Fit 3) which allows for a much more precise fit than traditional skates.
The one-piece boot on these skates is surprisingly lightweight and responsive, despite its stiffness. Love the edge hold on the LS Pulse TI blades.
👎 Cons
Super expensive. Can't in good conscience recommend them when there are more affordable options available that offer 90% of the performance.
These are very stiff skates, and require a lot of leg strength.
The carbon fiber construction can take some time to break in completely. Experienced a little discomfort/ankle soreness when I first got them.
I've used these. Really good states. They are kind of the predecessor to the Mach, which is a top comfort skate. The ultrasonics is just a classic, extremely durable skate. The power boot cut creates a super powerful stride so that you can attack the puck better and the boot is really supportive. These skates will go on forever. Really good power. Pretty good agility.
