The Bacharach Rasin was the first company to being mass producing helmets starting in the 1960s. The helmets were comprised of a metal face mask, which typically had a pad attached to the bottom row via 2 snaps, and a hard plastic shell that was adjustable by tightening or loosening the string tie in the back of the helmet. These helmets were considered to be innovative in that it had suspension. Which served to “cradle” the skull away from the foam shell. Whereas previous helmets had leather that sat right against the head, these helmets have plastic that is away from the skull, thus providing more protection. This helmet is from the early 1970s and is remarkably clean with few minor nicks on the shell. Most impressive is the gold foil lettering show no wear. Please note that one of the plastic tabs that stabelizes the face mask has fractured which is common and is in the process of being replaced. This account is dedicated to older, rare and unique lacrosse equipment and memorabilia from my personal collection that I enjoy. All items are thoroughly cleaned, minor repairs are performed and minor parts replaced where possible. Heads and complete sticks will have the stringing that came with it when purchased. Please follow me and check back on a regular basis to view new listings that will be limited to 10 at a time. For listings on more current lacrosse equipment feel free to check out my other account on Sideline @roblund.
