PROS



* These skates are unbelievably light! The one-piece boot and PowerFly holder really make a difference. They feel very agile and responsive on the ice, allowing for quicker turns and faster strides. My skating has definitely improved since switching to the HyperLite 2.
* The HyperLite 2 skates are some of the most comfortable skates I've ever worn. The liner is soft and the foam padding helps eliminate pressure points. The new fit system with variable flex zones seems to conform well to my foot shape.
* Great skates, the 2's are very similar to the original HyperLite's, 2's have a better release to change the steel, and a different tongue.

CONS



* There's no getting around it, these skates are expensive. They're definitely an investment for serious players only.
* A huge issue for me is lacing up because there are NO metal eyelets for the laces. So to tighten, l have to pull on the laces sideways (if l pull straight up there's a good chance the laces will rip through the carbon fiber) making it difficult to get a good grip.
* Paying well over $1k for skates and additional steel, I feel like the skates should really last longer than two years.

There is not as much difference between the HyperLite and the HyperLite 2 as there was between the Hyperlite and the 2x Pro, but the 2 is really just a lighter skate. More comfort features have been added also, and there is a new locking mechanism. The HyperLite 2 still offers the quick release, but it's a different upgraded style, which makes it easier to switch the steel in and out. The holder itself is different and extremely lightweight.

* The M3 skates come with a slightly heat-moldable liner that allows for a more customized fit around the ankle. This helped eliminate some pressure points I had with my old skates. They also provide decent arch support.
* These skates didn't require a long break-in period like some higher-end models. The memory foam ankle padding feels great and there were no real comfort issues out of the box. 

CONS:



* The M3 skates don't offer the same level of stiffness as some top-of-the-line models. This might be a drawback for players who are looking for maximum power transfer in their strides.
* The fit of these skates leans a bit on the narrow side. If you have wider feet, you might want to consider tanother model with a wider width option.
* Only complaint is the steel sucks. I bought some pulse runners and they are great, but if I would have known that I had to throw another $110 for decent steel, I would have just bought the m4s.

The M3 is a low to mid-level skate. It's a bit more expensive than the introductory ones, but it has the quick-release steel changer. So players can use the M3 for a lot longer than if there was no way to change the blades efficiently. It has a lot of comfort features like a thick padded tongue. It's so focused on comfort and this keeps players happier. Because when you're starting out, comfort is a bit more important. The reason I've seen people STOP using this skate is just because of the durability aspect. As people become more comfortable with their game or their skating, and they start doing different cuts and using their skates differently, the wear will happen in different areas and degrade this skate faster than higher-end models.
