* These skates are incredible! Super lightweight and feels responsive, which is exactly what I was looking for in a skate for quick cuts and accelerations. My strides feel really explosive.

This skate is intended for people who skate about once a week and are not super competitive. It'll hold up. If you skate ten times a week with these skates, they will only last you a little while, maybe a month or two. However, the main thing is that there is no quick or easy release for the metal runners or the blades. Many players look for skates with a metal release, which will let them swap out their blades. The more you sharpen them, the thinner they get. And in this case, you'd have to replace the whole bottom, the holder. It's more intensive than just clicking a button and adding new blades. But really, a solid skate for those who don’t skate every day.

It's a great skate if you don't really need the pro-level durability because you might only be skating on the weekends, but you still want something decent.

* I am worried about the blade holder system. They come with plastic insert. Took out and tried to put in V-Steel. Could not get to go in.

The AS-V offers a close, professional fit, and a lot of power. I really love the quick acceleration. The number one thing with this skate is comfort. The padding really secures the ankle and foot while keeping the flexibility to turn and move. The tongue has a funky design, but it allows you to get a full range of motion without feeling insecure in the skate or like it's going to fall off or wobble.

Aesthetically, this skate is a fan favorite among hockey players who aren’t ashamed to say they care about the look of their gear. JetSpeed FT1 skates are praised for their black contoured boot with subtle red accents. This look is clean and sharp, and is very similar to Bauer’s 1X LE skate. The black runner steel is a crowd favorite, because it holds an edge longer than standard steel tends to. You can clearly see when there are nicks in the blade, so it won’t be hard for you to figure out when they need to be replaced. These blades are also incredibly lightweight, and you’ll notice this right away when you pick them up. As you would expect with a top-of-the-line boot, they’re very stiff. The AS3 Pro is a carbon composite one-piece boot. It's a higher-level skate with a premium liner for moisture wicking, an interchangeable, custom-fitting tongue, and an improved blade lock system that secures the blade to the holder. Swapping out blades is super easy. The AS3 will have a more anatomical, snug fit. It has good heel locking, giving you reall good acceleration and power.
