What to Have in Your Golf Bag: A Checklist

Every golfer is different. But for us, here are the must-need items that we recommend you have in your golf bag.

  • Golf Balls: Be sure to have plenty of new golf balls. There are a ton of brands out there, so we recommend you try out a few different types until you find a brand that you like and trust. If you want to throw one or two old golf balls in there as well, that is never a bad idea. You can always use them for practice!
  • Ball Markers: Don’t forget these! If you don’t want to spend money on them, then you can use your money as the marker -- a coin works perfectly as a ball marker.
  • Sharpie: Be sure to have a Sharpie on hand as well. It’s a good idea to write your name or initials on all of your golf balls. Labeling your golf balls will save you from many arguments with your buddies over whose ball is whose.
  • Towel: A towel is necessary to wipe your clubs off, especially if it’s been raining out and the grass is sticking to your clubs.
  • Golf Glove: For better grip and control on your clubs, we recommend investing in a solid golf glove.
  • Tees: Grab a handful of tees before you hit the links to make sure you never run out during a round.
  • Snacks: Hungry on the course? The best snacks on the links are CLIF bars, 1st Tee Bars or a simple PB&J sandwich. Always have a bottle of water in your bag too -- it’s easy to get dehydrated on the course, especially in the Summer.
  • Sunscreen: Always carry sunscreen and lip balm too so you aren’t rolling into the clubhouse looking like a lobster.
  • Umbrella: If you see rain in the forecast, don’t leave your umbrella at home.
  • Windbreaker or Jacket: Try to pack a jacket or an extra layer for when it gets a bit chilly, especially if you’re playing at night or on a windy day.
