Thin, Soft Flex Core: Bauer’s Vapor X5 Pro leg pads are built around a streamlined, soft flex core; an excellent option for goalies who want a thin pad with strong rebounds, but prefer a softer flex than Bauer’s Supreme pads.
CURV® Composite Reinforced Thigh: Familiar to fans of Bauer’s elite equipment, CURV® Composite has been implemented to reinforce the thigh rise, without adding excess bulk or weight. Compared to commonly used impact-resistant materials such as ABS plastic, polycarbonate, and fiber glass composites, CURV® composite offers unmatched resistance to cracking, deforming, or splintering, at low temperatures.
Soft, Free-Flex 110° Boot: Bauer’s Vapor X5 Pro pads are built to control the crease with a flexible, yet highly mobile feel. Featuring an upright, Free-Flex boot, the X5 Pro Pads sit more flush on the skates and allow the skates a greater range of motion.
Knee Landing & Calf Support
STABILIFLEX Knee Block w/ Included Knee Wing: Signature to Bauer’s Vapor lineup, the Vapor X5 Pro pads’ knee block is integrated into the core for a direct response. Compared to the Supreme lineup’s STABILISLIDE knee block, the STABILIFLEX knee gives these pads responsive, precise feel, while allowing for more flex between the knee and the pad’s core. Included knee wing can be easily attached and removed with a simple hook-and-loop fastening.
Hybrid Calf Support: The Vapor X5 Pro pads feature Bauer’s more dynamic, Hybrid Calf system, with a CORTECH outer lining material for quick slides and greater long-term durability. Compared to their Supreme pads, these pads offer a supportive butterfly, while staying flexible with an integrated calf pillow, and single reinforcing bracket.
Fit & Strapping
Strapping: Familiar to fans of the Vapor lineup, the Vapor X5 Pro leg pads offer an easily-adjustable fit with Bauer’s Tune Fit Strapping System. Bauer’s Tune Fit strapping offers lightweight pad control, with easy, hook-and-loop fastening adjustments at the upper and lower calf. The Tune Fit system can also be entirely removed with hook-and-loop fastening.
Elastic Toe-Ties w/ Centered Bridge: Elastic toe ties secure each boot with more give over traditional skate lace toe ties, offering improved edge control and greatly reducing lower body strain.
