This special Kobe edition of the AF1 takes inspiration from one of the many shoes Kobe wore throughout the 2002-2003 season. More specifically, during his sneaker free agency after he bought himself out of his previous contract and before officially signing with Nike. The original that he wore on court was a mid version of the AF1 that celebrated Kobe’s career with Los Angeles, featuring Varsity Maize and Varsity Purple accents.
